Service Cordinator

Namlhawas born and grew up in Labrang, Amdo Region of Tibet, and her parents are nomads. Growing up in impoverished conditions, Namlha believed education is the most important investment that she could make in herself. She did that by attending schools while working to support herself. Namlha is now a proud graduate with a bachelor’s degree in Commerce. She already had a few years of experience working with two other Tibetan travel agencies before joining the Conscious Journeys team in summer 2016. Namlha’s philosophy of “give respect and get respect” is very much part of her daily practice with everyone, including her colleagues and clients. She is a mother of a beautiful daughter, loves to sing and dance, and enjoys traveling with clients whenever she can.

Namlha’s Hometown

Labrang is known for its Labrang Monastery, which is one of the six great monasteries of the Gelug school of Tibetan Buddhism. The monastery is located in Labrang (Ch: Xiahe County in Gannan Prefecture). There is a small airport being built near Labrang. This will make it easy to get there from major cities, such as Chengdu and Xining, if you do not wish to drive or take other land transportation. Other major attractions in the region include the birthplace of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama; Tso Ngonpo (Qinghai Lake), which is the largest sacred lake in Tibet; and Rebgong, which was the historic capital of Amdo and today is known for Tibetan Arts.
